Monthly workshops offer a dedicated time and space for writing in community. Whether creating new work or tackling an existing work in progress, gathering in community allows writers to network, share, and support one another. Since 2024, Russellville Writers’ Group has provided free literary programs in the Arkansas River Valley.
WHO: Monthly writing workshop is intended for adult writers of all levels and genres who want to foster their creative talents and build community support for the literary arts in the Arkansas River Valley. Group membership is open to all community members without regard to race, sex, class, nationality, religious affiliation, educational attainment, or publishing status.
WHAT: Workshop topics and themes vary from month to month, but time spent in workshops is dedicated to sitting down and writing with opportunities for feedback and sharing. Prompts provided are designed to help writers address issues of theme or craft.
WHEN: Third Thursday of the month, unless otherwise stated. (No Third Thursday meetings in June, July, or November); Workshop starts at 5:30pm
WHERE: Inside the Co-Create Innovation Hub at 215 S. Arkansas Avenue in Russellville, AR. Workshop is held inside Conference Room B.
WHY: Because the arts and the pursuit of a creative life should be open and available to all people regardless of their geographical location, educational attainment, or publishign status. Because creativity flourishes where it is nurtured. Because community matters. Because doing hard things together and make them easier.
